Walton in Bloom

“The village is a delightful place.”

Horace Hutchinson, Country Life, 1904

Who are we?

Started some years ago by Ethel Armstrong, we are a small, happy band of volunteers, keeping the village pretty with seasonal planting, hanging baskets and bulb planting.

Our achievements so far are, restoring Gun Corner to seasonal planting, the installation of a 1952 original red telephone box, now housing a defibrillator, the inspiration of Lin Ferg.

Funds for this community project were gratefully received from the Reigate & Banstead Council Neighbourhood Improvement Fund, along with contributions from Pfizer, local businesses and local residents.

In October 2019 we planted nearly 500 daffodil bulbs at the pond. We recently installed a new hanging basket stand near the white gates at Howard Close. Made and donated by our local farrier, installed by a local garden company and looked after by a nearby resident, this demonstrates great community spirit. So if you see us in our high Vis jackets please come and chat.

New volunteers and donations always welcome.
